Obituary for Glen Roy Hope
Glen Roy Hope, 98, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. His funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Ripley, Oklahoma.
Glen was born on December 30, 1918 to Roy and Ella (Cornue) Hope in Stroud, Oklahoma.
He married Eithel Hope on November 25, 1943 in Cushing, Oklahoma.
He has lived in the Stillwater area since 1954. He is a retired Farmer and Construction worker. He is a member of the Ripley United Methodist Church in Ripley, OK. He retired from the United States Army of the 34th Infantry Division where he served as Sergeant after 41/2 years during World War II. He held his rank throughout his service. Glen was very proud in the military and enjoyed sharing his stories with kids and adults. After his service in the military Glen & Eithel traveled across the country pipelining & making friends along the way. When returning home they started Hope Pipeline and Construction Company. They worked mostly for oil companies at the Cushing Tank Farm & local natural gas companies.
After retiring Glen & Eithel raised cattle on their farm and enjoyed spending time with family Glen was a loving husband that took very good care of his wife Eithel in their later years. He made many friends throughout his life and during his time at Grace Living Center in Stillwater, Ok.
Glen has left us knowing the love of family with many special memories. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by two brothers Loyd Hope and Vernon Hope; three sisters Evelyn Wilkerson, Aileen Davis and Anita Sarale; and daughter-in-law Linda Hope.
He is survived by his son, Donald Hope & wife Jean of Ripley, OK; Grandson Jeff Hope & wife Kathy of Ripley, OK; Great Grandson Justin Hope of Stillwater, OK; Brothers Richard Hope & wife Sandy of Woodward, OK; John Hope & wife Lisa of Greenville, Tenn. and several nieces and nephews.
