Condolences

Condolence From: Richard Edde, MD
Condolence: I haven't seen or talked to Bob since I graduated medical school in 1971. I was saddened to hear of his passing. In 1968, when I was a scared third year medical student, Bob was my intern for a few months. He taught me how to do a spinal tap. His kind supervision showed me how to mentor those who came after me. I know he had a long successful career in Stillwater and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. I was a better physician for knowing him.

Condolence: Vicki and Family,
We go along in this life and meet many people but not to many that we will never forget! Bob is one of those. He was always helpful at church and dedicated to everything he was involved in. He is missed by us!
I pray for your healing.

Condolence: Dear Vicki and Family,
We were so sorry to learn of Bob's passing. Please accept our condolences and know that our memories of Bob include his wonderful disposition and love of golf. What he loved most, though, was you, Vicki, and the boys and their families. We often smiled and still do when he talked about those noisy "pups". Blessings to all of you!

Condolence From: Kent P. O'Halloran
Condolence: Sadly, I can not make the memorial service for Bob. However, always considered him family since we both shared a favorite Uncle--his Mother's brother (Dr. Jonathan D. Friend) thru his marriage to my Mother's sister (Dorothy Lafferty-Friend)--my Mom (Wilma "Jean" Lafferty-O'Halloran who also graduated from Stillwater High School in 1943 and OSU in 1947). My awnry cousin (Dr. Jonathan Friend, MD) and I had many a fun time at the farm in Marshall, OK at the expense of Bob (he was 10 years older) when we were still mobile at approximately 8 years old. Bob got his due retribute of our constant pestering by sitting on top of me and putting axle grease into my hair. The usually stoic German Friend family (Grandmother Friend and his aunts--including Alma) laughed heartedly from the back porch at that incident that occurred in the back big barn driveway. His Mother (Alvena) always had a lust for life and laughed the most at our due punishment. Also had me come up from OKC one Saturday to perform an out patient operation in the emergency room of the Stillwater Hospital. He made sure that my Grandmother Mamie Lafferty was notified to meet me after the procedure done without any anethesia so that I could motor back to OKC (I think he got some past revenge pleasure by that). Always enjoyed seeing Bob & Vicki at family events and OSU games over the years. He will be remembered---Kent Patrick O'Halloran-Cordell, OK...

Condolence: Dear Vicki, Chris and Brandon,
We were shocked and deeply saddened when we heard what happened to Bob. He was a beacon of light to all who really knew him. He had such a fun and positive spirit and made me laugh and smile a lot. He made such a difference in so many lives as a great man and a great surgeon. I could always rest in knowing that my patients were in great hands when I sent them to Bob. I recently heard someone say that we either live too long or die too soon. Bob left too soon. We will miss seeing him around and Stillwater has suffered a great loss. May God hold you close and bring you supernatural peace and comfort during this unspeakable loss. We mourn with you and will hold on to precious memories of your husband and father.

Condolence: We are thinking of your family at this time. Bob was a wonderful person with a wonderful family from grand parents, parents, uncles and aunts, wife, children and even cousins. His family has every reason to be proud of Bob. He will be very proud of his family as you continue as he did with his faith in God.
