Michael Raffety, 61, of Stroud, passed away June 8, 2018. There will be a private service Friday, June 15, 2018.
Michael Raffety was born April 20, 1957 to Billy and Virginia (Gooch) Raffety in Cushing, Oklahoma. Mike attended Stroud Public Schools and Central Vo-Tech in Drumright. He married Leannette Taylor on October 20, 1979. He was a carpenter his whole life, from owning a business with his brother, making custom cabinets and trim, to working on specialized projects at Wood Systems in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Mike had a love of hunting, John Deere tractors, and going to auctions. The joys of his life were his grandkids. He enjoyed taking all of them deer hunting and watching them on the ballfields. He loved bragging and showing them off.
He is preceded in death by his father; brother, Raymond Marshall Raffety; and niece, Amy Raffety.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Michelle (Jim) Wilhelm of Stillwater, OK and Tami (Brad) Jackson of Stroud, Oklahoma; granddaughters, Shontana, Sierra, and Jaelynn Wilhelm; grandson, Tommy Jackson; mother, Virginia (Raffety) Trawick; sisters, Dianna (Mike) Foster or Cushing, Oklahoma and Kathy (Pete) Sawatzky of Stroud, Oklahoma; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
There will be a potluck lunch for family and friends, Friday, June 15th from 11 a.m.- 1 p.m. at the Hampton Inn & Suites in Stroud: 915 W. Ada Webb Drive.
