Mildred June Brower, recently of Tahlequah Oklahoma passed from this life and went to be with our Lord and Saviour on December 19, 2017. Services will be December 28, 2017 at Locust Grove Funeral Home in Locust Grove, OK at 11:00 am under the direction of Rev. Nathan Covington and Strode Funeral Home of Stillwater OK.
Mildred was born March 12, 1928 to Atwood Wallace and Alta Mae (Heatherington) Powell at Drumright OK. She was married to L D Brower on June 28, 1946. LD and Mildred were blessed with three sons, Louis Danial Brower, Jr., Robert David Brower, and Paul Jonathan Brower.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, two sisters, Lola Moore, Lela Cooper, and one brother, Russell Powell.
Mildred and LD most recently lived in Tahlequah OK. They are formerly from Perkins OK. They lived a number of years in Marlow OK where she was active in the Church of the Nazarene, both at Marlow and Stillwater OK. Mildred was passionate about fishing and carpentry work. She helped build several houses with her late husband doing much of the cabinetry herself. She was also very accomplished at crochet, having made at least one bedspread and/or tablecloth for each of her children and grandchildren.
Mildred is survived by her three sons, Louis Brower Jr. and wife Cloye of Stillwater; Robert Brower of Kerrville, TX; and Paul Brower and wife Lynda of Tahlequah; one grandson, LD Brower, III of Stillwater; six granddaughters: Andrea Brower of Stillwater OK; Gwen Kinkston, Sicily Brower, all of Wichita Falls, TX; Ashley Lamarr of Salt Lake City, UT; Jessica Brower and Catherine Brower of Tahlequah; nine great grandchildren: Kiersten Houser and husband Blake, James Brower, Sean Brower, all of Stillwater; Brighid Brower of Salina OK; Chelsea Dillin-Brower, Chambersburg, PA; Shai-Lea Kinnamon and husband Cole, Dawson Bastion and Corban Bastion, all of Stillwater; two great-great granddaughters, Emillia Kinnamon and Grace Houser of Stillwater OK; many nieces and nephews.
Burial will be at Molly Field Cemetery in Tahlequah OK.
