Obituary for Sandra Elizabeth Swank

Sandra Elizabeth Swank
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Sandra Elizabeth Swank, age 77 of Stillwater, Oklahoma on Thursday, December 6, 2018. A visitation will be held on Saturday and Sunday, December 8th and 9th, from 12pm – 9pm at Strode Funeral Home. Services will be held at 4pm CST on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Sunnybrook Christian Church, 421 E. Richmond Rd, Stillwater, OK. 74074. She will be laid to rest at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.
She was the older of two daughters born to the late Arthur Robert Swank, Jr. and Maxine Swank on January 22, 1941 in Stillwater. Sandra attended Stillwater High School and married E. Gene Colasacco in 1959. The family moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1963 and on to Denver, Colorado in 1967 where they raised their young family before returning to Stillwater in 1974. Sandra and Gene divorced in 1989 and Gene passed away in 2015.
Sandra was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stillwater. She loved music and sang in the Glee Club while attending Stillwater High School. She also loved to volunteer her time at St. Mary’s elementary in Littleton, Colorado, where her three children attended school. She began working for Oklahoma State University Cowboy Football Office as the Defensive Staff Assistant in 1977 and worked for coaching administrations that include Jim Stanley, Jimmy Johnson, Pat Jones, Bob Simmons, Les Miles and Mike Gundy. She was loved and respected by the OSU Athletics administration and athletes that passed through the program throughout her tenure. In December of 2008 at the Holiday Bowl and aboard the USS Bohnoome Richard in San Diego, she was presented with the Grant Sharp Trophy, given in honor of the former admiral whose name it bears and presented to an individual who puts team goals ahead of individual success.
Sandra was predeceased by her father and mother; one sister, Jane Swank, all of Stillwater.
She is survived by her three children, Keith (Sandy) Colasacco, Mark (Julie) Colasacco and Kim (Jerry) Sheets; nine grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will include Keith Colasacco, Mark Colasacco, Cameron Kenning, Tony Colasacco, John David Cline and Jerry Sheets, led by Honorary Pallbearer David Swank.
