Dr. William Robert (Billy Bob) Chace, 83 of Stillwater Oklahoma died on April 7, 2019 at his home in Stillwater. Family will greet friends on Thursday, April 11 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater. Funeral Services will be held on Friday April 12 at 10:30 am at the First United Methodist Church in Stillwater and burial will follow in Morrison Oklahoma.

Bill was born on September 8, 1936 to Leland and Hazel (Akers) Chace in Morrison. He attended Morrison Schools graduating in 1954. He then attended Panhandle State University for a couple of years and it was there that he met his wife of 63 years Shirley (Pat) Jones Chace. They married on January 19, 1954 at the Morning Star Methodist Church near Guymon Oklahoma. After working a few years as a rough neck in the oil fields and for Ponca City City Service he decided to enter the Ministry. He entered the ministry in the United Methodist Church in January 1961. He began with the course of study to be licensed as a minister in the Methodist Church. He then went on to earn his Master of Divinity Degree at Southern Methodist University and then earned his Doctorate Degree from Phillips Theological Seminary in Enid. With Shirley by his side they served the United Methodist Church faithfully for 46 1/2 years together.
Bill was a storyteller and believed that life’s journey is all about the story we live and tell and share. His story touched many lives and will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his wife Shirley of the home, his six children Jeff and wife Regina Chace of Oklahoma City, OK, Roxanna and Husband Steve Conner of Perkins, OK, Robert Chace and JoAnn Nunn of Newkirk, Ok, Mike and Wife Shannon Chace of Stillwater, OK, Tom and Wife Lisa Chace of Cherokee, OK, and Craig Chace and Lisa Exley of Peoria, Il.. He is also survived by 41 grandchildren and 31 Great Grandchildren all of whom were precious and loved deeply by him.
He is also survived by one brother Charles Chace and wife Kathy of Kirksville Missouri.
