She was born July 30, 1922 in Jenks, OK to Lane and Mary (Ishmael) Frailey. She joined brothers Irv, Gene and Arthur and big sister Evelyn. Her little brother Dennis was born when she was 15.
After graduating as salutatorian from Jenks High School, she moved to Stillwater to attend OSU’s College of Business where she met her future husband, C.L. Kirk. They eloped October 9, 1943 in Arkansas. She was a war bride and followed C.L. to officer training school in Washington DC. Their son Richard was born in 1947 and then David in 1950.
She and C.L. belonged to the Moose Lodge, Elk’s Club and OSU Alumni. Being avid OSU fans, they attended several bowl games, traveled to Japan and had season football tickets for over 50 years. She reluctantly gave up her season tickets at the age of 93. She traveled to horse races, casinos, hosted parties and had a fun active life. She worked at OSU Business and Engineering Extension as a conference coordinator and worked for Aerospace Extension and was fortunate to watch several shuttle takeoffs.
She accepted her fate of declining health with grace and dignity and humor. A word of thanks to her wonderful caretakers and nurses who loved her and made her final days comfortable and filled with loved.
Welcoming her to her new heavenly home are her husband of 63 years, son Rick, her parents and brothers and sister.
She is survived by her son David (Donna) of Woodward; Ricks wife, Laura Sue Kirk; grandchildren Chris (Dana), Cary (Shirley), Julie (Mark) and Melissa and great grandchildren, Sydnee (Jared), Lincoln, Lily, Nathan and Addy.
Also, thank you to Larry Eslinger and Jimie-Wray Mead and the Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be Chris Kirk, Cary Kirk, Johnnie McDonald, Kevin Frailey, Nate Frailey and Rylee Youngkers.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the OSU Foundation and designated to Alumni Association, P.O. Box 1749, Stillwater, OK. 74076-1749 or online, www.OSUgiving.com.
