To Learn today of Dr. James Seal's death, I can say with great pride that he was a genuine person, a friend in Jesus Christ and my professor at O.S.U.

I met Jim one summer at UTSA in San Antonio, TX. where he taught a summer class as a visiting professor. I truly loved this man as a genuine friend, It was he that I dedicated my doctoral dissertation as my friend and major advisor, who sought me out each day to see how I was doing in my classes, and work on my research for my dissertation. I encountered no one throughout my entire studies from my first years in college in 1955 throughout my doctoral studies at Oklahoma State University 1975 with such dedication to any single person as I did from Dr. James Seals. After graduation 1975 from OSU, I sadly felt that I would never see or hear from him again, but to my heartfelt surprise, I received each year thereafter, a Christmas card, wishing me and my family well. In 2000, long after my retirement from professional career, I was ordained a deacon in the Catholic Church, receiving a congratulatory card from Dr. Seals, telling me how proud he was that I would continue to dedicate myself to the spiritual service of mankind.

Dr. Seals was not only my friend during the years at OSU, but remained so until the day he passed on to his Lord and Savior. To this day and each day I pray that he rests in the palm of the Lord's hand for all eternity. He loved his Lord and the people of God to the very end.

+May you rest in peach my dear and loving friend,

John A. Michel '75 O.S.U.
San Antonio, Tx.

It seems impossible that I won't be seeing Jim Seals and having spontaneous conversations that were like we had no time passing since our last. It was probably about a year ago as I entered to have my hear aids adjust--there he sat as well. Wonderful memories of a committed, interested, advisor for my graduate program and profession. He touched so many lives through his commitment. God's Blessings to you all as you put one step in front of the other during this time.
