Obituary

Raymond S. Todish, age 82, of Glencoe, passed from this life on Sunday, November 17, 2019. Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the Glencoe Church of Christ, with interment following in Glencoe South Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of the arrangements.

He was born February 5, 1937 in Iron Mt, Michigan to Raymond C. and Helen Marie (Cuggino) Todish. He attended Long Creek Elementary School in Long Creek, Oregon. On October 17, 1958, he married Theressa “Jane” Todish in Elkton, Maryland.

Raymond served honorably as a fire control tech in the U.S. Navy, and was a veteran of both the Korean and Viet Nam wars. His navy career took him all over the world, where he saw duty on USS Helena CA-75; USS Pomodon SS-486; USS Mathews AKA 96; USS Dewey DLG-14; USS Sierra AD18; USS Barney DDG-6; shore duty in Vallejo, Ca; and FTC School in Great Lakes, Illinois. He was also a life-member of the Fleet Reserve and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Following his discharge, he worked in the maintenance department for Mercury Marine.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Bonita Faye Martin.

Members of his family include his wife Jane, whom he married in Elkton, Maryland on October 17, 1958; his children Jeffrey Martin Todish, Cynthia J. Brown, and Ronald S. Todish; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren, and his brothers William Carl Todish and Robert Jacob Todish.

I only met Mr. Todish a few times, but he was so nice and talked to me about family and other things, I really enjoyed him, he will be missed a lot.
