Wanda Laverne (Sallee) Friedemann was born October 14, 1925 in Jennings, Oklahoma to William E. and Leona A. Sallee. She passed from this life to be with Jesus on November 25, 2019 at Southern Plaza in Bethany. Funeral services are under the direction of Strode Funeral Home and will be held on 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 29, 2019 at Mehan Union Church with Dr. Randy Schuneman officiating. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater.

Wanda lived around the Jennings and Yale area as a child and graduated from Jennings High School. On June 9, 1946, she married Edward R. (Dyke) Friedemann in Stillwater. To this union, two children were born – Janet Sue and Phillip Mark.
After high school, Wanda worked at the Federal Land Bank in Stillwater for several years. After her marriage, she traveled with Dyke and did custom combining from Texas to North Dakota. She then became a homemaker until returning to work for Stillwater Public Schools at the service center and the junior high for many years. After retirement, she volunteered at Judith Karman Hospice at the resale store downtown for over ten years.
She was a past member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Stillwater where she enjoyed singing in the choir. In 1990, she became a member of the Mehan Union Church and was still a member at her death.
Wanda is survived by her daughter, Jan Thomas and husband Larry of Stillwater. Also, granddaughters, Jennifer Gallaway and husband Chad of Stillwater; Lori Liles and Eric Rogers of Edmond; Becky Reedy and husband Justin of Stillwater. She is also survived by great grandchildren: Keegan Darrow, Dericca Rogers, Kye Gallaway, Corbin, Caleb, Kayna and Camden Reedy. Also surviving is one sister-in-law, Irene Overbey of Norman and one brother-in-law, Robert Friedemann of Dallas, Oregon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, E.R. (Dyke) Friedemann; her son, Phillip Mark Friedemann; her great-grandson, Justin Perkins; her parents, William E. and Leona Sallee; three sisters-in-law, Margaret Friedemann, Marge Friedemann, and Kay Friedemann; two brothers- in-law, Ernest Friedemann and Bill Overbey.
Pallbearers will be Chad Gallaway, Justin Reedy, Eric Rogers, Randy Friedemann, Mike Friedemann and Tommy Newell.
Memorials may be made to Judith Karman Hospice of Stillwater or the Mehan Union Church. The family would like to thank all those at Southern Plaza in Bethany and Golden Oaks of Stillwater for the wonderful care and compassion shown to Wanda during her last years. You are all very much appreciated.
