Terry, George and I were so saddened to learn of your father's passing. George was quite fond of your father and mother. We were unaware of your mother's passing in 2012. You and your family are in our hearts and prayers. I know this a really hard time to lose a family member but you will always have your memories of holidays past. Again, please accept our sincere condolences.
Sincerely, George and Judy Davenport

I am a friend of Jerry's son, Randy. Randy is a man of integrity, humility and service to his country...sounds like the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Thank you for your service to our nation. Our troops coming home from Vietnam were not treated like our forces today...but the full military honors you will receive is our country's way of saying THANK YOU. Jerry Coleman was an American Hero. He earned the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Star (as did his son, Randy). They are some of our nation's highest honors. With greatest respect.
Keith M. Givens, Brigadier General (retired), USAF

Keith, on behalf of the family, thank you so much for the heart felt comments. Dad’s military service absolutely defined who he was and how he lived his life. The service yesterday with the full military honors was fitting for the sacrifices Dad has made for the Country and his family. Randy

Jim Holloway

My name is Jim Holloway. I am retired and live in Ardmore. My father, George Holloway, was Jerry's high school football coach at Ardmore High School. I was born in 1949 so I never new Jerry personally but I can remember my father talking of him. Not only as an outstanding football player, but even more as a wonderful young man. My mother even talked of Jerry after my father passed away. I followed my father's footsteps and become a high school football coach for 46 years. My parents came to all of my games until they died. On occasion, his name would come up when comparing one of my players to past players. My dad would always say, that none of them were as good as Jerry Coleman. (this included several college and pro players that I coached). In closing, I am sorry for your loss. Just wish I could have known your father!!!

Diana Coleman Posted at 11:46am

Coach Holloway it is great to hear from you! Thank you so much for your kind words regarding Dad. Your father’s impact on Dad as a young man was enormous. Dad would would tell stories about Coach Holloway and all of the games regularly, even into his 80s. Your Dad’s influence contributed to the man Jerry Coleman became. On behalf of of our family, thank you! Randy Coleman
