John fought a courageous, hard, and long battle with leukemia and aplastic anemia. John never complained, was never afraid, and was at peace with his life and God.

After graduation he worked as a state meat inspector until 1974. He then started working for OG &E as a control operator, where he retired in 2004 after 30 years of service.
His greatest passion in life was his love for family and the outdoors. He loved sitting on the river bank fishing, as well as deer, duck and goose hunting. He was known as the “goose eliminator” where he resided.
