Beverly Rae Phoenix Boyd Pelnar, age 90, of Stillwater, was born to Raymond D. Campbell and Pearl N. Phoenix on August 15, 1929 in Kansas City, Missouri. She passed away Monday, December 30, 2019 at Brookdale Senior Living Center in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Beverly spent her youth between Sublette, Kansas and Afton, Oklahoma. She married Ralph D. “R.D.” Boyd on January 21, 1946 in Afton, Oklahoma. Together, they raised their two children in Perry, Oklahoma where she operated Osborne Photo Studio and later the B-Hive children’s clothing shop. While in Perry, Beverly was an active member of First Baptist Church Perry, the Cherokee Strip Community Theater, the Noble County Association of Retarded Citizens, and the Republican Party. In 1983, R. D. Boyd retired from The Charles Machine Works, and the couple retired to Sarasota, Florida. Five years later, they returned to Oklahoma, and eventually settled in Stillwater.
After 53 years of marriage, R. D. passed away in 1998. Beverly married Charles “Les” Lester Pelnar in Sublette, Kansas on August 16, 1999.
She is preceded in death by her husband R. D. Boyd, husband Charles Lester Pelnar, close cousin Suwayne Obenhaus French-Williams, and grandson Brian R. Ricker.
Beverly is survived by daughter Dee Ann (Larry) Ricker of Perkins, Oklahoma; son Dennis W. Boyd (Jackie) of Denver, North Carolina; grandchildren Betsey D. (Britt) Weaver of Stillwater, Oklahoma; Bex Boyd (Elizabeth) of Denver, North Carolina; and Blaine Boyd (Kelly) of Dubai, UAE; sister Saundra Williams (Dean) Carlson of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; cousins Brona (Chet) Wiswell and Kamela (Warren) Wright of Montezuma, Kansas and Russell French (Tammy) of Amarillo, Texas; 11 great-grandchildren and numerous extended cousins.
Graveside and burial services with the family will be held Thursday, January 2nd at 2:00pm at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
