Patricia L. (Riley) Bear passed from this earth on January 21, 2020 at the young age of 72. Her funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday January 24, 2020, at the Calvary Assembly of God Church. The family is requesting that those attending wear pink in honor of Patricia.
She was born on September 2, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to Robert and Lois Riley. She shared the same birthdate of her father and grandmother. Once she graduated high school she went to nursing school and obtained her LPN license. Patricia then went to work at Lake Forrest Hospital where she met a wonderful and handsome man who would sweep her off her feet by the name of Jerry Bear. Jerry and Patricia would become engaged, move to Stillwater, Oklahoma, and were married at Calvary Assembly of God in August 1972. Jerry and Patricia would then be blessed with two wonderful girls Sharlene and Laurie.
Patricia enjoyed her work in the health care field. She worked in hospitals, nursing homes, private home care and home health. She always did what she could to treat those she cared for the way she would want to be treated as a patient. Patricia also enjoyed attending church, being involved in the ladies group and helping with special church dinners.
If you were to ask her what or who her real pride and joy was, she would tell you her granddaughter Courtney. The day Courtney was born Patricia’s world changed. She became one proud beaming granny. She would carry as many pictures of her granddaughter as possible and when given a chance she would talk about Courtney as much as possible. Now don’t be fooled, Courtney might be her pride and joy, but her son-in-law Paul sure holds a special place in her heart. She knew all she had to do was make one phone call and Paul would be there. Those two had a very special bond.
Patricia is preceded in death by both sets of her grandparents and her parents Robert Riley Sr. and Lois (Nelson) Riley.
She is survived by her husband Jerry Bear, her children Sharlene Latsey and husband Paul, Laurie Bear and granddaughter Courtney Newton; two brothers Robert Riley Jr. (children Melissa and Eric Riley) and Michael Riley. She also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Thinking about all of the family at this time. Remember fondly of the days we lived close to each other, babysitting your kids and know that you are in many people's thought at this time. Comfort to all of yu.
