Linda Lou (Lee) Jamison, age 76, of Stillwater, OK, passed away at home on April 13th, 2020. She was born on November 10th, 1943, to the late Martin Lee and Madge (Moore) Lee in Ponca City, OK. She attended Ponca City High School and graduated in 1961. She then attended Oklahoma State University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1965.

She met her first husband, the late Robert Jamison, while attending a Russian History class at OSU. Robert was impressed by her ability to spell difficult Russian republics’ names, such as Azerbaijan, and the Beef Stroganoff she prepared for him. They were married on December 29th, 1967. Robert then joined the United States Air Force, and they were sent to several bases in the USA. While stationed in Alexandria, LA, their daughter Kathleen (who survives her) was born in April of 1970, and their son Thomas was born in April of 1971 but did not survive for long. After Robert’s service in the Air Force, they moved to Stillwater, where Robert received his master’s degree in education in 1974.
Linda and Robert then moved to Vinita, OK, where Robert served as assistant vice-principal of Vinita High School from 1974 to 1980. While in Vinita, Linda was active in the local American Association of University Women chapter, a Camp Fire leader, and worked part-time at various locations. She shared her love of reading with her daughter Kathleen, and they were frequently seen at the local library.
In August of 1980, they moved back to Stillwater so that Robert could work on and receive his doctorate in education. Linda became an administrative assistant to the Physical Plant Director at OSU, a position she would hold until her retirement in 2005.
Linda’s first husband Robert passed on October 21st, 1995. Starting a new chapter of her life and blessed with the wonderful support of her friends, Linda was able to travel to Rome and Paris, and enjoyed many other outings. She then married her second husband (who survives her), John Houck, on May 16, 2006. They shared a love of traveling around the USA, especially New Mexico, taking cruises to the Caribbean, Alaska, around the Great Lakes, in addition to engaging in many intense games of bridge with their friends.
Linda is predeceased by her parents, Martin and Madge Lee, her sister Catherine (Lee) Alsop, her first husband Robert Jamison, and her son, Thomas Jamison.
Linda is survived by her daughter Kathleen Jamison-Patnode and son-in-law Richard Patnode of Tulsa, OK, her second husband John Houck of Stillwater, OK, her niece Janice Verhoeve of Lone Tree, CO, her nephew John Alsop and wife Karen of Katy, TX, and her cousin Richard Lee of New York, NY.
Open viewing and visitation will be Tuesday, April 21st, from 9:00am to 6:00pm at Strode Funeral Home in Stillwater, OK. A private memorial service will be held on Wednesday, April 22nd, at Strode Funeral Home and will be live streamed. Linda wished to be cremated so there will not be any graveside services.

Linda was the youngest in a group of six 1st older cousins . I was nine when she was born and her birth was a special addition to our Ponca City and Enid, OK cousins. Growing up she and I became closer as friends and I appreciated her younger, generational support for me . My parents were close family to her late Mother and Father and daughter Catherine. My late sister Virginia was the same age as Catherine, a classmate and childhood friend. Linda was a fresh breath of air within our group of seven older Lee/Killam cousins and loved by all. May she rest in peace.

I have many memories of Jamison. The special ones are from the trips that our group of friends made--to New Mexico, Rome, and Paris. She couldn't decide whether to go with us to Rome. She consulted with her older sister who said, "What are you waiting for? Get going." There was no stopping her after that.

I still remember the day she told me that she and John were going to get married. I send my sincere sympathy to John and to her daughter,Kathy. G. Gunther

John & Kathy…Our sincere condolences. Michael and I had not seen Linda in a while due to her limiting her interaction to protect her health. But, we still thought about her. Just a few weeks ago I took a stroll through the OSU Formal Gardens to check on the bricks she had placed for Michael & my wedding and for Zane’s birth. Great time to reflect on joyous memories. She will always be a “happy girl” in Zane’s memories. I hope all your wonderful memories will carry you through the sorrow. Know she is once again healthy and able to enjoy God’s garden.
