Cecil Dean Dodrill was born on June 14, 1933 near Perkins, Oklahoma to Dewey James and Nora Ruth (Johnson) Dodrill. He died on July 11, 2020 in the house he built with his own hands. He was in the United States Army during the Korean war and retired from Tinker Air Force Base in 1993 after having served his country for forty years.

He enjoyed raising cattle, restoring old tractors and vehicles, and he was an artist with any piece of wood. He was a mentor to many young men, passing on his knowledge and life experiences, often in stories from his time in the military and his childhood. He was a kindhearted man, who always took in every stray dog and made it feel loved and cared for. Cecil was a caring husband, father, friend, and an especially wonderful Grandpa.

Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Rosella Ross; and brothers, Rellen, Dewey Jr., Delbert, and Ed.

He is survived by his wife, Sue; son, Jim and his wife Kym Oltrogge of Dripping Springs, Texas; daughter, Jennifer and her husband Sam Roark of Edmond, Oklahoma. He also leaves behind four granddaughters, Annika Dodrill, and Jessie, Mary, and Rebecca Roark.

Cecil was buried in Perkins Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma. He had a private service with Dr. Mack Roark officiating.
