Jewell Dean Evans, 92, passed away on July 26 at her home in Stillwater, OK. A funeral service will be held July 30, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Strode Funeral Chapel in Stillwater. Interment will follow at Fairlawn Cemetery. Strode Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born January 29, 1928 in Dustin, OK to General and Alpha Collins. She was married to Frank Evans on March 9, 1951. She is survived by son Rick and daughter-in-law Robin of Tulsa, grandchildren Andy Evans and wife Jennifer of Plano, Texas, Robert Evans and wife Andee of The Hague, Netherlands, Bailey Evans of New York, NY, and Ryland Evans of Portland, OR. Also great grandchildren Thomas and Caroline Evans of Plano, Texas, Preston and Tinsley Evans of The Hague, Netherlands. sisters Ina Reams of Holdenville, OK, Linda Skinner of Sapulpa, OK, Sue Collins of Holdenville, OK, and a brother Bob Collins of Wetumka, OK. She is predeceased by husband Frank, son Ron Evans of Lakin, KS, brothers Joel Collins of Wetumka, OK, Walter Collins of Weleetka, OK and a sister Mary Marsh of Enid, OK.
Jewell’s family is thankful for her doctor, Kelsey Smith, MD and caregivers Dena, Jeanette, Betty, Jennifer and Georgeann who made her life immeasurably better during years of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Jewell graduated from Holdenville High School and was employed by the Holdenville Telephone Company. After moving to Stillwater in 1967 she was employed in administrative positions with Stillwater Public Schools until she retired in 1983. After retirement she volunteered for the Judith Karman Hospice and she and Frank enjoyed traveling to all fifty states. She and Frank were members of Sunnyside Baptist Church.
Jewell’s family eagerly anticipated her menus for holidays because cooking was one of her many talents. She also collected clocks and dolls.
Jewell loved her family, was a friend to many and will be deeply missed.
