Obituary

Eva Mae Graham Bostian, 95, died August 13, 2020 in Guthrie, Oklahoma. Her graveside service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 17, 2020 at Elm Grove Cemetery in Perkins, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation are in charge of arrangements.
Eva was born on January 14, 1925 to Harvey Melton and Anna Margaret (Rasmussen) Graham in Coyle, Oklahoma. She attended Progress School and graduated from Coyle High School as Valedictorian. She was awarded a college scholarship. But, Eva felt called to help her country and in May of 1943 she became a riveter working on Boeing B-29’s in Wichita, Kansas. Her diligent and persistent work earned her the position of supervisor, overseeing the work done by the other riveters.
She married Lavern Edgar Bostian on March 31, 1945 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They celebrated over 60 years of marriage until his death on March 18, 2006.
Eva was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, homemaker, and grandmother. She spent time working for Dobson Phone Company as an operator. She also worked for the Green Stamp Store and Moore Business Forms. She served on the Election Board from 1984-2008 serving as a Judge. She loved to bowl and spent 18 years on the Senior Citizen Bowling League. Eva was a member of Perkins Immanuel Baptist Church. She became a Christian at an early age and the importance of her faith was reflected throughout her life.
She also loved her life on the Bostian farm partnering with Lavern in growing wheat and raising cattle. She and her husband grew very large gardens and the produce of which she canned and froze for her family. Every summer her extended family visited from around the country and she lovingly cooked huge farm meals for all. She was a seamstress and made her family clothing and then beautiful quilts.
She is preceded in death by her parents Harvey and Anna Graham, husband Lavern Bostian, son Randy Bostian, and siblings: Alice Willson, Cleo Graham, Dorothy Haught, and Ted Graham.
She is survived by her son Ron (Sherry) Bostian, daughters Rhonda (Bruce) Griffin and Rebecca (David) Parrack; 7 grandchildren: Calvin (Libby) Griffin, Nichole Trantham, Traci (Matt) Rowland, Angie Cundiff, Andrew (Tracy) Parrack, Joshua Parrack, Sarah Parrack; and 7 great-grandchildren: Mason Griffin, Mikaylah Griffin, Kolby Cundiff, Lauren Rowland, Kayton Cundiff, Devlin Rowland, and Michael Parrack; brother Gene Graham of Wichita, KS, sister Aileen Shellhamer of Rancho Mirage, CA; sister-in-laws Morine Bostian and Kathryn Bostian; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers are Calvin Griffin, Matt Rowland, Andrew Parrack, Joshua Parrack, Mason Griffin, and Kolby Cundiff.

There are so many of my family that I have never met, but fortunately Eva Mae was one that I talked to often. We had a joint interest in family history and I learned a lot from her about family I never met personally, but through the heart and eyes of Eva who loved and shared her family with me when we got to spend time together. We share our church and church family as well at Immanuel and I loved to see her there every time she got to attend. God plucked a beautiful flower for His bouquet when He took Eva Mae home. I look forward to seeing her again, when God takes me home as well. She will be missed in the mean time by many of us..... Teresa Lowe
