Hilda Edna (Flasch) Kaiser, age 101, of Guthrie died on Saturday, August 29, 2020 in Guthrie. Her funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, September 4, 2020 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stillwater and burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Lutheran Cemetery north of Langston. Hilda was born in Mountain Park, Oklahoma on September 14, 1918 to John and Julia (Hacker) Flasch. Three months later, they moved to a farm near Coyle, Oklahoma. She graduated from Coyle High School in 1936 and attended Hill’s Business College in Oklahoma City and Kansas State University.
She married Herbert E. Kaiser in Guthrie, Oklahoma on December 2, 1942 and to this union was blessed with three children. She worked in Washington, D.C. in the office of the Adjutant General, War Department before her marriage. She was employed by the Agricultural Adjustment Adm. Office in Guthrie, Oklahoma and Seward, Nebraska, County Treasurer’s Office, and at Kansas State University until her retirement. She and her husband lived in Kansas City, Kansas, Mt. Clemens, Michigan, Seward, Nebraska, Manhattan, Kansas, and moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma after retirement.
Her volunteer work included: Campfire Girl Leader, Girl Scout Leader, Head Start, Red Cross, English Conversation tutor, and Stillwater Medical Center for 18 years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and member of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League since 1943. She served as a Sunday school teacher for over thirty years. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to all 50 states, as well as to over 35 countries on five continents. She also enjoyed reading, quilting, gourmet cooking, sewing, crosswords, and attending sporting events.
Preceding her in death were her husband, her son Roger, her parents, her brothers John, Herman, and Otto Flasch, and sisters Minnie Flasch and Bertha Nobbe.
She is survived by her son Donn Kaiser and his wife, Ann Elise, of Springfield, Missouri; daughter Karen Parsons and her husband, Lark, of Farmington, New Mexico; daughter-in-law Shari Kaiser of Newton, Kansas; seven grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren, as well as her brother Harold Flasch and his wife, Joy, and numerous nieces and nephews.
