She was born December 24, 1924 in Beggs, Oklahoma. She married M.M. (Bud) Andrews March 30, 1946. Sue loved people and she never met a stranger. She loved playing bridge with her friends and ballroom dancing with her husband. Her love for golf encouraged her children to take up the game. Her friends and P.E.O. were very important to her as well as her church friends. Sue was an active member of Countryside Church and Stillwater Bible Church for many years.
Sue graduated High School in Claremore, Oklahoma and then attended Whitworth College for Women in Brookhaven, Mississippi. She also attended Draughon’s Business School while working at the Boeing Plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She attended Tulsa University and then transferred to Oklahoma State University where she met her future husband Bud whom she was married to for 58 wonderful years. Her professional career included 20 years at OSU working in International Student Admissions. She used to always say: “Life is not made by the dreams you dream but by the choices you make.” She also told her family, “I want my children to have all the things I could not afford…and then I will move in with them.” Her favorite line was “Get over it.”
Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible verses, I Chronicles 4;10 Now Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil that I may not cause pain,” and God granted his request.
She was preceded in death by her husband Bud in 2004 and her son Meredith (King) Andrews in 2001.
Sue is survived by her daughter Linda Andrews and her son Max Andrews and daughter-in-law Beverly. She is also survived by her grandchildren Teresa Sanford, Kelly Dean, Jon Schmurr, Aaron Andrews, Adam Andrews, Casey Sparks, Mandy Andrews, Mikki Sue Wilson; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff of Brookdale Senior Living for their compassionate love and care as well as the staff of Stillwater Medical Center and Physicians Choice Hospice of Stillwater.
