Obituary for Velma Jean Human

This earthly world lost a small person with a huge heart. Velma “Jean” Milward Human, 75, went to her heavenly home on October 26, 2020. We will miss her as long as we live. She was a friend, confidant, adviser, amazing mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sometimes a partner in crime. Please pray for our family, for she was greatly loved and will be deeply missed. Her funeral service will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, October 30, 2020 at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater, Oklahoma with a livestream of her service available on her personal page by visiting www.strodefh.com. Her interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Jean was born on May 19, 1945 to Bryon and Altha (Moore) Milward in Pawnee County, Oklahoma. She graduated from Glencoe High School and attended school in Amarillo, Texas.
She was married to Vern Heddlesten on December 22, 1962. On February 12, 1971 she married Billy Human in Miami, Oklahoma.
She lived a life dedicated to helping others as WIC nutritionist and as a home health worker. Jean belonged to the Mehan Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Billy Human; Tracy Human; Altha Moore; and Byron Milward.
Jean is survived by her sister Kay Driskel and spouse Luther; her brother Chuck Milward and spouse Pat, her half-brother B.J. Milward; her son Tommy Heddlesten; daughters Debbie Turner and Patricia Thatcher; grandchildren Candace Heddlesten, Blake Mahaffey, Kasey Arbaugh, Montana Thatcher, Zoie Thatcher, Maggie Noland, Jessica Noland, Bryce Nesbitt, Casey Thatcher, Ethan Vascellaro, Alec Vascellaro; great-grandchilren Bennett Marceau, Emberly Fite, Sawyer Fite, Tripp Nash, Tyde Nesbitt, Nain Nesbitt, Christine Mahaffey, Valen Mahaffey, and Braxton Mahaffey.
