On Friday, December 4, 2020 Dennis Paul Martin, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend went home to rest in the loving arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 72.
His graveside service will begin at 1:00 p.m. on December 14, 2020 at Fairlawn Cemetery in Stillwater with Pastor Seth Mathis officiating. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation is in charge of arrangements.
Dennis was born on February 9, 1948 in Sayre, Oklahoma to Eugene and Loretta Martin.
He married Phyllis Terrill on May 29, 1968 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. They would have celebrated 53 years in May.
Dennis was a lifelong Carpenter in the Stillwater area and working with wood was one of his all-time favorites.
He retired as the Building Superintendent from the Payne County Courthouse in 1993. Past Commissioner Bernice Mitchell praised his construction talents and thought he was a genius.
He saved the county so much money during his tenure due to his knowledge of electrical, plumbing and various construction projects.
He is preceded in death by his parents; father and Mother-in-law Earl & Freda Terrill; brother-in-laws Calvin Terrill, Lawerence Osborn, Chuck Lowery, Lee Ricord; and brother & sister-in-law Don & Sue Castoe.
He is survived by three sons, Dennis Martin Jr. and wife April of Perkins, Damian T. Martin and wife Cecelia of Stillwater, and Cheavis Martin of Glencoe.
He is survived by two sisters Carolyn Ricord and Patty Lowery both of Stillwater; and one brother David Martin of Stillwater.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren Reygan Martin, Brianna Matson & husband Thomas, Morgan Sadler & husband Jaycen Damian E. Martin & wife Stori, Bailee Troxell, Kailee Troxell, and Hagen Martin. Nine great grandchildren and three great-grandchildren on the way.
He will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
