Datha Adair Morrison of Stillwater, Oklahoma passed away peacefully during her sleep Sunday, December 13, 2020. A memorial service will be held at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel in Stillwater on Wednesday, December 16, at 11:00 a.m. Datha will join her husband Lou, the love of her life who pre-deceased her 15 years ago, in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Stillwater. Datha and Lou were engaged on Christmas Day 1946 and married August 16, 1947.
Datha is survived by her two daughters, Tamara Morrison Tricoli of Houston, Texas and Linda Morrison Thetford of Bethany Beach, Delaware; three loving granddaughters: Tamra Thetford of St. Louis, MO, Morgan Hinkley of Nashville, TN, and Caroline Rozanski of San Antonio, TX; and five great grandchildren: Henry, Silas, Blake, Harper and Jack.
A proud Oklahoman, Datha was born in Tulsa on December 28, 1926. After high school graduation Datha attended the Blackwood Davis Business College and immediately went to work for the Oklahoma State Department of Agriculture. She later worked for the Payne County Extension Service in Stillwater and happily supported many 4-H members and families.
After retiring Datha enjoyed playing golf, bridge, and traveling to visit many sites in the United States. She particularly liked visiting her daughters in their state-side and out-of-country homes, as well as going to the beautiful Colorado mountains and the sunny Florida beaches.
Datha was a Stillwater resident for nearly 70 years and a loyal advocate and fan of Oklahoma State University. She proudly attended college football and basketball games, cheering the teams on to victory while always wearing the proper orange OSU shirt.
Datha was an avid member of the Stillwater First United Methodist Church where she served on multiple committees to help others.
Those wishing to honor Datha’s memory may do so by contributing to the Oklahoma 4-H Foundation.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Datha’s special earth angels who provided continual support and kindness: Carolyn Laverde, Robert and Deanita Sitton, Primrose Retirement Community Staff, Walker Companion, and Karman Legacy Hospice Care.
Condolences may be sent to the family and an online obituary may be viewed by visiting www.StrodeFH.com.
