Breck was a wonderful young man, and we were always happy for our son to play with Breck when they were young. He was always very polite, considerate, respectful and we loved seeing him. He took care of our cat and our flowers when we went to Europe, and we surely appreciated that we could depend on him. We miss his quiet presence in our neighborhood.

I didn’t get to know Breck as well as I would have liked, but you could always tell he was a sweet and gentle man. His presence will be missed in all our lives and I sincerely hope he finds peace in the world beyond this one.

Breck was better than most everyone I have ever known. His soul was true to himself as well as to others. His heart big enough to be kind to those who didn’t deserve his kindness. His laugh was the best when he really got rolling. It changed over the years and I liked every version. He was cowboy, he was Indian, he was soldier and merchant man, warrior and warlock. His mind was so incredibly creative and his imagination was absolutely wild. My soul will never forget his.

I’ll never forget the day Breck told me that he loved me but would never marry me. He went on and explained that he thought I was going to be a phenomenal mother some day and he wouldn’t ever want to pass his pain on to anyone else. We were such babies who loved playing in that neighborhood like it was our kingdom. His declaration took me by complete surprise. I rolled over his words for days and processed how it scared me and made me sad. He stayed home for days on end, missing school and we never got to talk about it more. I never was able to quite be the same around that silly boy. He gave me the greatest compliments and helped me love myself. He saw me when others didn’t and in ways that always made me wonder if he really did practice magic. Great people make us want to be better. Break Starr was just simply the best and I wish I was a better friend.

Never met you in person, even though we lived just an hour apart. you were an immensely kind and good person. Could come to you if I was having a bad day and you would let me vent or give me a laugh with a silly Warhammer nerdy meme or joke. I will miss you a lot friend.
