Flager on October 29, 1966 in Yale, OK. Shortly after they moved to Anchorage, Alaska where Charles was assigned by the Air Force. He was active in the military from 1966-1969 at Elmendorf AFB and then joined the reserves in 1969-1972. He was a proud Air Force veteran and was proud to serve his country. Charles grew up on a dairy farm which he was extremely proud of and told everyone he could about his love of farms and dairy cattle. He was in FFA throughout his high school years and was an accomplished judge at the FFA competitions. He worked as an insurance agent for AFR and was also a retired rural mail carrier.

Sports consumed his life from a small boy, playing baseball and basketball with his brother and cousins. This continued throughout his adult life playing softball and passing this love and passion of team and competition in sports to his kids. Charles was a sports fan playing as well as watching. It was the most enjoyable time of his life watching OU football with his family.

When Charles was stationed in Anchorage it was such an important and enjoyable time, they always talked about taking his children there. In 2019, 50 years later Charles got that chance. It was his most enjoyable time spending time with his family and that cruise was everything to him, and was also able to take his grandchildren. Family trips were important as he took several trips to Disney World and the most recent in December.

Charles was a grandpa that loved his grandkids unconditionally and with his whole heart, he was a grandpa first.

Charles is preceded in death by his wife Connie Porter, and his parents Charles and Alta Porter.

He is survived by his son Charles Henry Porter the IV, (Chuck) and wife Sherylynn, his children Abigail Grace and Charles H. Porter V (Chase). He also leaves behind numerous cousins that were like his brothers and sisters. His “coffee guys”, Sunday School Class, and not forgetting his dearest and closest friends, he loved you all like family.
