Jeralyn Zoeller Jackson (87) passed away on January 10, 2021 in Houston, Texas. At the time of her death, Jeralyn was living at the Brookdale Retirement Community in Houston. Known to her friends and family as Jerry, she was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 27, 1933, the second daughter of Jerome H. Zoeller and Dorothy Evins Zoeller. Jerry attended Incarnate Word College in San Antonio (now the University of the Incarnate Word). At Incarnate Word, Jerry built upon her incredible talent with a Bachelor of Arts in music with a focus on piano performance and education. In addition, she studied flute and continued her studies for many years. Jerry joined the Incarnate Word Community Orchestra at the age of 15 and continued until she graduated in 1956. At that time, Jerry gave a spectacular performance of the Saint Saens Piano Concerto at the Incarnate Word auditorium with her father, Jerome H. Zoeller, conducting the orchestra. Jerry then earned a Master of Arts in Music from the University of Texas, Austin in 1958, where she met her future husband, James Forbes Stuart Jackson, Jr.
Jerry married James in 1960 and the couple raised their family in Stillwater, Oklahoma, where James was Professor of Finance at Oklahoma State University. Jerry earned another Bachelor of Arts degree in English from OSU while in Stillwater.
Jerry was a deeply committed member of the Catholic Church with the constant ability to “walk the walk” of our savior, Jesus Christ, expressing love and compassion wherever she went. Jerry also took great joy in her immediate and extended family, deep friendships, music, quilting, reading, and writing letters. She was the organist and music director at Saint John’s Catholic Church in Stillwater, OK for many years, and taught private piano and flute lessons to many students over the years. Jerry’s family and friends will miss her abundant love and enthusiastic conversations, where her ability to be present in every discussion was unparalleled.
Jerry is survived by her two sons, James Stuart Jackson and his wife Julie Eilers (Houston, TX) and Edward Marsh Jackson and his wife Lauren Dunlap (Long Beach, CA); four grandchildren, Emily Anne Jackson (Long Beach, CA), Maria Elizabeth Jackson (Long Beach, CA), Rebecca Ann Jackson (Houston, TX), and James Stuart Jackson, Jr. (Houston, TX); four siblings, Jerome H. Zoeller Jr. (San Antonio, TX), James P. Zoeller and his wife Harriet “Tommie” Taylor (Gordon, TX), Joyce Zoeller Douglass (Falls Church, VA), Jennifer M. Zoeller (San Antonio, TX). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews throughout the country.

Jerry was preceded in death by her husband James Forbes Stuart Jackson, Jr. in 2018 and her daughter, Anne Elizabeth Jackson, who passed at a young age, as well as her sister, Jacqueline Zoeller Bowers.
An online rosary service will be conducted at 7pm on Tuesday, January 19th. A funeral mass will be held at 10am on Wednesday, January 20th, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church located at 711 N. Country Club Road, Stillwater, OK 74075. Her Funeral Mass will be live-streamed from .

Jerry was a very sweet lady. Always had a quiet smile for everyone. We worked together for several years and shared many
family stories. She loved hearing about my girls and their horses. May she walk the streets of heaven with all her loved ones now.

My sincere sympathy, I worked at St Francis Xavier when Jerry was music director. We shared many hours together preparing for the many services.
