Norma Lee Leigh, age 89, of Morrison, passed away Wednesday, June 2, 2021 in Oklahoma City. Funeral services under the direction of Strode Funeral Home will begin at 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 7, 2021 at Sunnybrook Christian Church. Burial will follow in Morrison Cemetery.

Norma was born in Tryon, Oklahoma on October 1, 1931 to George W. and Thelma (Nickleson) Breeden. She married Junior Wilson and to this union Lynda and Danita were born. This marriage ended in divorce. Norma married Joe Leigh, who had three children – Larry, Diana, and Ronnie. Norma and Joe together had Kelly, Cindy, and Kevin. Norma was a dedicated mother and gave all eight of her children unconditional love!
Norma worked in retail all her life until retirement. She was a people person and always took time to listen to her customers’ stories. She and Joe loved supporting the school and community activities over the years, and she was a member of the Morrison Christian Church.
In her younger days Norma loved to spend time with her brothers at the lake or at the horse arena. While in Morrison, she loved going out to the farm with Papa Joe to feed the cattle.
When Norma got the chance, she loved to travel and share her memories with everyone. She loved to dance, wherever and whenever. Saturday night dances were a highlight of her week, and it was at one of those dances where she met her special friend, Tony Melton.
Preceding Norma in death are her husband of 35 years, her parents, her brothers Jack Frank and Don Breeden, her sister-in-law Jeanette Breeden, and her great-grandson Justin Baker.
Members of Norma’s family include her children Lynda Grimes and husband Bill, Larry Leigh and wife Sheryl, Diana Frank and husband Gary, Ronnie Leigh and wife Donna, Danita Savory and husband Sam, Kelly Leigh and wife Lecia, Cindy Barrick and husband Dan, and Kevin Leigh and wife Susan. She also leaves behind her sister Louise Powers, her sisters-in-law Dorothy Breeden and Mary Breeden, 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many, many, friends.
