Born on the family farm southeast of Perry on May 29, 1929 to Joe and Bessie Anne Vohralic Nemechek he was raised in that area and attended school through the eighth grade. At that time, his parents took him out of school to operate the farm and he was deferred from the army for the same reason and then farmed the remainder of his life. He married Mildred Johnson in Guthrie, OK and she supported him in the farming business during their 57 years of marriage. Zion Lutheran Church held his membership.
As honest as the day was long, he was also kind and gentle and spent much of his time in the shop building things. Even with his limited education, he was an accomplished electrician and could have been an engineer had he not been needed on the farm. Attending auctions and garage sales was an enjoyment to him early in his life and with maturity he seemed to think shopping at Wal Mart was his favorite thing to do.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife; brothers Edward Jerry and Frank Joe; and sisters Mary Alice, Adelina Anna and Doris.
Survivors include his adopted son Tim Nemechek and niece Polly Gioni and also his adopted daughter and special friends Patsy and Joe Streller; 4 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
