Pet Services

The loss of a pet is immeasurable.

But so is the love left behind.

For most of us, our pets are like family. When they pass away, we believe in saying goodbye in the same respectful, caring, and dignified manner as any other member of the family.

Strode Funeral Home’s Pet Care Center allows pet parents to say goodbye in a dignified and caring manner with cremation options to fit most needs and budgets.

All packages include transfer of your pet to our facility from any Stillwater-area veterinary clinic, necessary refrigeration, and individual cremation of your pet in our dedicated pet-only facility. Your pet’s ashes are then scattered at Sunset Memorial Gardens Pet Cemetery or returned to Strode Funeral Home for family pick-up.

Our staff is available 24-hours a day to take your calls, with local pick-up service available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. seven days a week. We can also receive your pet at Strode any time with advance notice. After-hours and out-of-Stillwater pick-up can be arranged with an additional charge.

We know your pet is very important to you, and we will treat them with care and respect. We are a local, family-owned and operated business, and are here to help any way we can.

Please see our packages below for complete details.

Thank you for placing your trust in us.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I know I am receiving MY pet back?

Each pet brought into our care is issued a stainless steel disc with an individual identification number. This disc stays with your pet throughout the cremation process and will be included with your pet’s cremated remains.

Our pet crematory also has a viewing room for you to observe your pet being placed into the crematory. This is by appointment only, and additional charges will apply.

  • How soon will I receive my pet back?

Normally it takes approximately a week before your pet is ready to go home. This is because we only offer individual cremation, and we cremate each pet as it is brought into our care.

If you have special circumstances, cremation may be expedited at an additional cost.

  • Does my pet have to be at a veterinarian’s office for you to pick them up?

No. We are able to collect your pets from the veterinarian, OSU Animal Clinic, OADDL, or your home residence. Applicable fees will apply. Please see the "Pick Up Fee Schedule" for more information.

  • Is pre-planning a possibility?

Yes, you may plan ahead, however no fees are collected until a death has occurred.
